I had to work really fast to catch the sunlight falling on these intensely yellow little buttercups. The jug was almost silhouetted In shadow beneath the flowers, which added to the drama of it all. I love how working small allows you to make the painting equivalent of a snap-shot image to capture some fleeting moment.
