Hi Jo, love this one as she does 'live' and her eyes shine! I know how difficult this can be to achieve so well done!

A lovely little portrait, so lively. Well done Jo.

Two very nice drawings...you really should do more of these. I saw your comment on your other poetrait re photography. i photograph mine in a really good natural light, no flash to bleach it out. I then edit them in "Picassa" a free download from Google. It works well and is very easy to use. If you maybe had used a "contrast" on both of your drawings, they would have "shown" better (Ooops sorry about the grammer) I can understand why your daughter is delighted with this one. Go for it.

Excellent image Jo..A perfect little pencil princess :-)

Youngest granddaughter when she was 4 years old. Taken from a photograph on a very sunny day in the garden. Very little shadow so had to be a bit creative. According to her mother it is a perfect likeness! I outline in 2-4H and slowly build up with a variety of B pencils. The darkest one for the eyes. I blend with a piece of chamois cloth or a stump. I only do about two drawings a year so get very rusty in between. I do not think my drawings are very good as I do not practice (I have bad arthiritis and it takes a lot of fiddling about to do a drawing!). My daughter told me to get some feedback so here goes. I usually do birds and animals in either pencil of pen but last year tried a portrait. I have to have the eyes large to be able to do it as my eyesight isn't brilliant and I always do the eyes first as it makes the subject "alive" so the bigger they are the easier it is to draw. Does that make sense? I am new to all this so I hope all this waffling is what is required.
