Not sure that the fruit flies add to it. They seem a tad small for flies. A good rendition of an interesting subject. Just remember breathing in those fungal spores is not recommended though.

I like the feel of it, you capture the decay. The cloth works very well. If I have one suggestion, it would be to put a bit more interest in the background so the fruit don't look so 'cut out'. You don't have to paint anything in the background, just break it up with some dabs of colour and tone, Hope this helps.

Thanks Phil and Michael. I see what you mean Michael about the cut out look, particularly round the lemons. Thanks for your input.

The mould on those lemons is spot on, also the rather squishy grapes! For me, another wash or two on the pepper, to give it more depth and a solid apperance. The table cloth is brilliant too. there are no flies on you, that's for sure!

sorry - pressed enter too soon..........I was going to say I love a bit of humour in art.

Thank you Tony for commenting. I really enjoyed doing this painting, particularly the lemons with their white and green mould.

This made me laugh ! I like it

Excellent picture Hazel. Very realistic.

I like the looseness and texture.

Went into my fridge to get out the orange pepper I had saved to be able to paint it. When I did, it had gone mouldy. I then let a few other things go mouldy too. I wanted to do a still life but I like to be different. Acrylic on paper. Ps I added the flies for fun!
