ST Ives, Not just a pretty place.

Very well done, William. The boats and the beach are superbly painted. However, I feel it would be an even better piece If you were to crop it and take the bottom two thirds. Just my opinion. Best regards.

A wonderful painting, William! I love the sunny atmosphere and the composition, not to mention your expert handling of the boats.

I've stood in just this spot so many times, and have probably painted the same boats! Lovely painting and you have managed to capture a feel of the special light of St Ives.

Thank you all for your encouragement and Yu Ping Eddy , I agree with you that a cropped top would improve the painting but unfortunately its a stretched box canvas, also it would look like lots of other paintings just of the boats, I was hoping to show a bit of work going on , but I admit that the top right of the painting is lacking in real interest , I may try to remedy that later, thanks for your observations and may I wish you all a very happy Christmas including all POL..

Just up my street William! Such a lovely view of boats! beautifully painted.I like the strong shadows.... amongst other things. You well deserve to be "in the charts".
