Thank you Carole - as an impatient painter I find painting on paper gives me better scope to get the colours how I want them and then build if needed. On these small studies I've moved away from a neutral ground to painting directly (without a drawing) onto white which allows refraction to play it's part but makes judging values more difficult.

Thank you Collette! I think my style has evolved out of representation rather anything contrived although along with many others 'looseness' is always an aim.
