Very lively Gudrun and full of spontaneity.

Great Gudrun. Never seen a portrait done in oilpastels. Would imagine it to be. Quite. Challenging.

This is great, Gudrun, Such a lively portrait, really comes over very effectively!

Very colourful, Gudrun. I would imagine not easy for portraits. I only use them with other media to highlight, but I do like them. Incidentally, what do you seal yours with?

Really colourful work Gudrun.

Great image. She’s a variety girl on the stage as I see her Gudrun. Nice and colourful. I find it a challenge to use oil pastel and avoid it. But I’ve begun to use one of your other favourite mediums, oil. I’ll put some up tomorrow to see what you think.

Thank you all for your kind comments and appreciation of my portrait. I like the fact you can't rub out oil pastels!? Ellen. I don't fix these, but if I did I would use Spectrafix, apparently similar to a recipe Degas used and non toxic. I suppose I could fix them. I fix charcoal and pastel. Somehow I am thinking oil pastels are marginally less delicate. I can rub these a bit though. Frame under glass with double mount. Michael. I look forward to your oils.

I don’t know why,but this figure reminds me of a character from one of Mozart’s operas.

Wonderfully flamboyant Gudrun.

Some more thanks for your appreciation. Diana, you may be thinking of Queen of the Night.

30x40cm. I thought it was time for an oil pastel.
