Great drawing

Thank you Tim. I was going to put the following in the introduction, but there was not enough space so I include it here. I love generating movement in all my work be it literal or internal to the composition, and I am particularly enthralled by dancers. I love the challenge of creating thoughtful, thought-provoking and even beautiful work. Leonardo da Vinci’s work, particularly his drawings, have made a huge impression on me. Pencil drawing and similar work is very difficult to photograph and it makes me think about how a lot of art is presented today. A lot is fitting for ‘the online’. For such work to be successful online it needs to create an immediate impact. Pencil drawing is quiet, particularly if it not completely photographic so relies on quiet and subtle passages that is not always evident in photographs. I find this frustrating.

The "quiet five minutes" nicely illustrated Gudrun. Nice work.

And a beautiful seated position it is

Beautiful, Gudrun, a great drawing!

I think your drawings are always very special as they radiate so much character, especially as you say, pencil doesn’t photograph very well Gudrun.

Wonderful figure work Gudrun.

Thank you Frank. Your encouragement is much appreciated.

I have done this drawing today because I felt the need for some quiet reflection and a need to create something beautiful. This may evolve into a bigger work in a different medium, but for now, I leave her quietly sitting.
