You could have added stronger colour in the foreground, but actually I like it as it is - although I suspect this photograph doesn't do it justice. I like the sweep of the landscape and the shape of the painting - but suspect you've lost some of the brightness and cleanliness of the image in the process of photographing it.

As you have asked, for me I have to say that it is the colour. I find that photographs often flatten and bleach out some of the colour and I have to invent.

This is an effect you sometimes see, when the sea and sky meet. You have captured this. I perhaps( tis your painting) eliminate the blue in the sky and keep that lovely mustiness. But make the foreground , near foreground stronger. A thought. A lovely painting.

I actually like this as it is also as it give a completely new look to the beach and sea. Because there are no real areas of emphasis, you find yourself looking at all of the painting rather than just a focal bit.

Sorry should have said Mistiness. Oooooops

Thanks - It's still not one of my favourites and I think it may be too pale. Mustiness ! that made me laugh Sylvia!! A stronger foreground may be the key. Thanks for all your comments

Yes if you are going to cover large areas in your paintings like this one you probably do need stronger colours Graham, Heysham has no shortage of sand, capturing it realistically can be a problem, colour tones are probably the first thing to look at
