I think this has worked well Glennis, maybe you could strengthen the colour of the land coming in from the right a little. But the mountains have a distant look to them because of their blue grey colour.

It fits the title, Glennis. Beautiful, peaceful landscape. I agree with Stephen about the colours. I like the grasses in the foreground adding a lot of depth to the scene. Well done.

And so you should be its sooo good!:)Linda

I love your interpretation of the water - the light is perfect.

I think the hills are fine - they look suitably mysterious and as though they are heather covered. Good decision to keep the water unfussy and light. A very pretty painting.

Well painted and good limited palette make a lovely painting Glennis

Thank you all so much for your comments.. Thank you Stephen I will darken the land on the right.

Lovely painting Glennis. It reminds me of the evening walks I used to have by the resevoir near by. Too busy these days.

Thank you Carol Anne for your very kind comment

You certainly convey an atmosphere of tranquility in this painting, Glennis. And it's very well composed. I actually quite like the dark cool hills, because they add depth to the painting when contrasted against the warmer greens of the foreground.

Very nice 'dabbling' Glennis. It's worked just fine. Very nice work. I find that a stroke or two of a 'darker' shade right across the bottom of the picture, often works to throw up the rest of the composition. It also saves all the fussing about with individual stalks and blades of grass, and far from providing a 'barrier', serves to lead in the eye. I usually imagine a tree that is behind me, and that I can't see casting a shadow. Watercolour responds well to the treatment. Regards, John

Thank you John for taking a look and commenting on my paintings, much appreciated.

Nowhere in particular, out of my head. I like water. I think the hills are on the dark side but apart from that I am quite happy with it.
