I agree with you in that the closer you get to botanical painting the more hot pressed comes into its own. Anyway this is great on NOT which helps keep it relatively loose and so appealing - nice one Glennis

Another lovely painting Glennis - the soft peach colour of the rose is very appealing.

Super colour Glennis - did you get these for Valentines by any chance?!

Very lovely flowers Glennis, nice composition and colours

Thank you all for your very kind comments. Debs - no I was very lucky I had red roses, he's still an old romantic.

Beautifully painted roses, Glennis. No background: I like that, it accentuates the lovely shape of the flowers.

Lovely arrangement of my favourite flowers. Super variation of colour and tone in the roses, which makes them look so real - I can almost smell them!

These are beautiful, I love the colours. The texture on the paper compliments them, just my view, I know that hot press is the norm for botanical paintings.

Mia, Thea and Carole - many thanks for your very kind comments

It's beautiful, Glennis, you've captured the folds very well and the washes are beautiful. I agree that hot pressed makes for easier painting for flowers. Actually I have to admit I like hot pressed for just about everything except trees!
