Just looked at you animal portraits....I have not really looked at them before..apart from the Jack Russell. Its so re freshing not to see sicky sweet, wooden images. Yours all have an entity and personality....love them, especially ths wonderful horse, the chimp, the bear...Oh all of them.

2. Brenda Wren This horse 'lives' it makes contact with the viewer immediately. I love the rabbit and the Jack Russell. Beautifully executed. More please.

What a beautiful rendition of a horse. This is organic in look and not wooden and posed as so many people paint. Your gallery shows a remarkable gift in looking at the personality not just the creature and whether oils or watercolour you capture them magnificently. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Great rendition of the horse, lovely detail in the musculature, great that you have used just one colour as well, works superbly

I hadn't come across your wonderful animals gallery either until the Exuberant Hippo. Beautiful horse and exactly like horse if that makes sense. I am a bit of a horse nerd .... He is exuding that wired ready to flee feeling.

Oil on canvas - 100cm x 120cm This monochrome study is a complete departure for me in a number of ways. The size is much larger than I commonly paint and the use of a single colour was a profound experience. Despite the difficulties in getting sufficient tonal variations to render this splendid animal I enjoyed the challenges that this work presented. I was fortunate to be able to view this animal and others at a local trainer's premises and was most impressed by their sheer size and beauty.
