I should have mentioned that this was pastel painted on Bockingford NOT watercolour card hence the little white spots.

Lovely use of pastels George, and a fabulous composition.

The dimple effect only shows up on enlargement - I imagine you wouldn't see it like that in the flesh? Works well, anyway.

Thank you all. You are right Robert, although the painting was a fair bit bigger than the reproduction I couldn't really pick the little bits of snow that show on this one although they must have been there.
