Beautiful trees well done

Extremely good George and instantly recognisable as one of yours

Your use of liquid charcoal goes from strength to strength, George! Superb!

Fantastic George.

This is so good George, so many delicate touches evoking a woodland scene. Superb

I saw a demo by Steve Barrowman (on YouTube) where he used liquid charcoal in dry brush... unless I'm imagining it! Quite possible.... we are no longer in the first fine flush... I wonder if you mix it up into wash - and how you find it compares with, eg, Payne's or sepia watercolour. I've only used it twice, I've been very backward in getting on with things over the summer... anyway! Waffling apart, this works extremely well, alongside your ink drawings.

Thank you all very much for commenting I appreciate it. Robert, I use it in the same way I would use watercolours in tube form. I first of all cover the paper with a wash of clear water and apply almost full strengh Liquid Charcoal to begin to build up the picture. I let this dry then add washes of liquid charcoal adding and removing with water as neccessary. Untill it is absolutely dry (several days) it is very manoeuvrable which is it's big advantage. I have tried using Paynes Grey and Black watercolours in the same way but haven't been able to get quite the same effects. But perhaps thats just me!!
