Lovely Carole... Nice shadows and textures

Those great chunks of solid rock. But please don't go near to the edge. A super study Carole .

It is as beautiful as the watercolour version, Carole. Impressive!

Carole, the cracks let everything look so fragile, very good effect.

I recognised the image. The rocks and sky are great.

A great subject Carole, love the strata, pastel seems to be making a revival.

Lovely textured piece Carole. Well done.

Impressive work Carole, good use of the medium.

lovely loose work Carole like the texture of the rocks and the dramatic sky

You are making good use of it Carole. I like the graduation in the rocks.

Another impressive attempt at pastel Carole....that sky is fabulous! In the few pastels I have at the moment, I've only got one blue, one red, one yellow and white...oh and a dark one which I haven't a clue what it is!lol I hope to remedy my lack of materials soon.

Love this version as well, Carole, especially the colours - that deep blue sky against the pink and beige rocks is beautiful.

Not your usual medium or subject, Carole, but really good ! I have bought some pastels, but haven't the nerve to use them yet! I hope I can get as good as this!

Very good Carole. Those wide vertical lines at the bottom add to that feeling of a sheer drop!

Excellent Carole. Those rocks look good enough to climb - but not by me!

You're doing a great job, Carole. Loads of atmosphere in this piece.

You are all very kind to leave such generous comments :)

I found the two bits of pastel paper in the cupboard, no idea what they are called but will have to buy some more pastel paper, any suggestions?
