Superb Carole David Bellamy standard oodles of atmosphere brilliant textures awesome colours hope they get the roof fixed I could go on and on a CRACKER INDEED

Thanks so much Dennis. I found this photo on the Metro newspaper months ago ( much adapted) thought it would make a good painting, kept going back to it and scrubbing out. Dared to put it on here for comments and critique. I used Daniel Smith Moonglow for most of it.

That's a Yorkshire sky alright! Lovely watercolour nicely composed.

This is gorgeous, Carole!

I'm feeling the storm Carole !

Fabulous textures and beautiful light and atmosphere, Carole. Fabulous work!

I do that with found photos Carole I let them sit then all of a sudden they are ready. Daniel Smith moonglow perfect

Very encouraging comments thank you very much all. Dennis moonglow mixes with other colours to make colourful darks I find.

Really stormy Carole lovely painting:)x

Allowing watercolours do what they want on the wet surface is what it's all about and this is a nice example of that. Your rocks show some wonderful marks.

This is so impressive, Carole. A beautifully executed work.

Love the atmosphere and the textures

Absolutely beautiful, Carole. The rock textures and the moody sky are fabulous. I use Daniel Smith colours, I've got various purple based colours that granulate but haven't got Moonglow, I may just have to invest in that one, as I love purple.

This is a beautiful David Bellamy style. He is my hero and inspiration for the start of my painting career on the Hebrides. I studied his style and books then picked up on his tips. I have experienced the Yorkshire Dales and this is so like a typical scene. Amazing!

New and lovely, Carole. Beautiful textures on the foreground.

Lovely composition and colours Carole. I especially like the way you've done the foreground. Moonglow is one of my favourite DS colours (along with Rose of Ultramarine) - it's so versatile.

I'm Impressed!

Fabulous painting Carole, the stones are marvellous.

Super atmospheric painting Carole. I like the crackle effect on your rocks and I love that moonglow, I must get some :)

Thank you very much you are all too kind.... Val I have some Golden crackle paste but I used Deco art crackle paint on this (a tenth of the price and it works well ;)

What a lovely painting Carole! Never heard of moonglow but the effect is fantastic.

Brilliant, Carole. Amazing effect on stne wall.

Thanks so much I appreciate your kind comments Satu and Jennifer.

Wow Carole! This is SO different from your usual topic, but just as lovely! Love your choice of palette here too.

beautifully painted Carole you have captured the mood so well and love those rocks too

Desolation maybe, but what a beautiful and affecting painting.

The colours are quite magical Carole. I love the brooding sky.

David Gudrun and Sarah thank you for your kind comments.

Lovely scene beautifully painted.

This really caught my eye. Dramatic but soft and gentle at the same time! Lovely colours and textures. Perfect!

Super duper Carole......full of ruggedness!

Thanks very much Jackie and Fiona.

A wonderful composition, Carole. Images like this have such powerful stories waiting to be told.

Your composition and execution in watercolour is commendable.
