How did you get those textures .... the raised stems in particular... works brilliantly. One of your most interesting creations!

Thanks Robert. The stems are incorporated in the Japanese paper which I glued onto watercolour paper, then I rubbed an oil pastel and gold paste over the raised threads

Carole, this is definitely my favourite of your paintings to date! The strong textural elements and the beautiful soft tones work so well. I particularly like the splash of deep crimson in the foreground. Great painting!

A wonderful mixture of colour and texture Carole. I've tried painting acrylic on top of tissue paper stuck onto watercolour paper but didn't really like it but that Japanese paper looks very interesting.
