Stunning Carole, your paintings become more and more beautiful.

A really magical tree, it's so alive Carole

wow Carole, gorgeous painting, love the tree, it looks so lively and amazing with all those beautiful colours :)

Really wonderful work Carole, great interpretation.

Super work Carole, lovely colour washes,

Love this semi abstract painting Carole and the bird really makes it for me!

Full of atmosphere and colour, lovely Carole.

What you've got here, by the bucket and crate load, is atmosphere - I often walk in the early evening and dusk (sorry if this is sounding a bit like I Walked With a Zombie...) and you don't see detail in the strong but indirect light of sunset but you do get these marvellous colours if you just keep your eyes open for them, and that indistinct impression of great shapes, and strong darks. So I find this more real than a painting that has gone out of its way to portray the actualité - and certainly more real than a photograph, however good and literal.

Lovely effect Carole especially the light coming from behind the tree at the base. Was the bird intentional or did it appear from the washes? Great addition however it came about.

It IS magical Carole - there should be a story written about this tree.

Super painting and wonderful colours , and great technically Carole .

Thank you, I'm bowled over! You are all too kind but I really appreciate your time to comment. Fiona, the bird was an afterthought as I felt the painting needed a bit of 'life'. Forgot to say I used clingfilm to get the marks, especially at the base.

Stunning painting Carole, really love the colours and the way you have painted this, the bird is a fantastic addition.

This is one of your best Carole - clever colour choice - very excting

A beautiful stunning work Carole sublime

Stunning work Carole.

Carole! You are getting more and more adventurous. This is so lovely, and your palette is masterly.

Very kind Ruth, thank you for looking back.

Stunning piece, Carole. Lively and vibrant.

Is this one of Ann Blockleys?

No Sue it's mine. I do like like Ann Blockley's work. I got the idea of using gouache between the branches from her though.

Carole, this is wonderful and a much better photo. The bird is beautifully placed and Robert has put in to words what I would if I was as poetic as he is. Stunningly haunting and speaks to me of walking home near dusk with blackbirds still looking for berries

Thank you Norah that is very kind of you. The clingfilm works wonders and I put the birds in as an afterthought as it added a bit of 'life'.

I'm a bit late but another cracker Carole.
