Hydrangea

Hydrangea

We seem to be posting flowers together Carole. If I'd known mine was going to appear next to the "queen of flowers" I'd have waited a while longer LOL This is beautiful, those little blooms are so delicately painted and the leaves are perfect. I don't think I've seen a lovlier painting of an hydrangea.

Val, give over!! Thanks for your comment. It was easier than I thought, I was told to do a wet in wet wash with the colours in the flower then draw individual flowers. Then I picked them out with coloured pencil almost negative painting.

Negative painting, help ma boab, my brain's just not wired that way :)

Soft and beautiful :)

you are very good at flowers, such detail and yet softness :-)

I consider this flower one of the most difficult to paint with all those petals. You have rendered it perfectly.

Great work Carole !

Wow Carole.......you're flippin good at flowers Gal!

Beautifully done, you really should be running the course.

Very few people seem to paint hydrangeas I think because I don't recall seeing a painting of one before. This one is exquisite - the colours in the flowers head are superb and the leaves are a work of art in their own right. Really well done!

This I do like Carole - lovely dtudy

Thanks all for your very encouraging feedback. The technique was explained and demonstrated to me by the tutor, so did get a lot of advice. Thanks again.

Another absolute stunner, Carole!

Thanks Seok, always appreciated from you.

I love this Carole, beautiful detail.

I have just been on a two day botanical course, which I enjoyed very much. Watercolour and some coloured pencil used dry.
