This is oil on canvas, from an Edwardian photo I found on the back page of an old Natioal Geographic! Now in the May Dellafield Gallery, Benimar, Spain.

I like the hazy lazy atmosphere, the hills in the mist and the multi coloured pebbles. Old photos can kickstart inspiration - see Victorian paintings in my gallery.

At first, I thought this was two diff pieces, because I see an almost hard-edged shadow line going down the center. Is this an accident? If it is intentional (for i see where it could be by looking at the shadowplay on the ground), perhaps the line in the sky could be fiffused a bit.

Unfortunately this is a patch of light on the photograph...It' not on the original. But I take your point - it does look 'cut in half.' Please ignore it!

This is lovely, the colour of her dress is good which is reflected in the background and the pebbly beach. Far cry from the bikini and topless garb of today!! Such a gentleman sitting at her feet too.
