Lovely spontaneous sketch Fiona. Your sweet pea painting is on the POL Facebook page at the moment too!

Good sketch, Fiona. Very lively and spontaneous. Well done!

On the facebook page? I've never looked at the facebook page, thank you for letting me know Christine.

Not the quality of your pen drawings Mia, but I think I got what I needed from the scene. It's turned out a bit dark...grey looking for some reason. Thank you Mia

Great sketch Fiona, full of life, looks like your pen "danced "across the paper :)

Study for a painting, perhaps? Hope so, and look forward to seeing it.

Great little sketch Fiona! I saw your Sweet Peas on Facebook too!

There's something very satisfying about using a dip pen with India ink don't you think? It's that scratchy feel and the variation of the black line that I love. No going back to erase lines either which all adds interest for me. This is very nice Fiona, full of life and confidently drawn.

Thank you very much Val. Maybe Robert, I still have far too many acrylics to use up. Thank you Satu, I looked on facebook for the first time yesterday after Christine mentioned sweet peas was on there.....thank you. I love using a dip pen Louise, if there are two items that accompany me on an outing it's my dip pen and a small bottle of Indian ink. The pen I use is nearly as old as me, in fact I must dig out another nib as the one I use is starting to split up the middle....which gives an interesting effect in itself. Thank you for your comment.

Gorgeous. I also look forward to the acrylic version of this!!!!

I was thinking of having a go Gudrun, just waiting for the gesso to arrive on the door step. I've found lots of old mount board cut offs, some a fair size but they need a couple of coats of gesso first. Thanks very much!

Thank you very much Carole.

A great free and expressive sketch.

You wouldn't be catching up at all would you Thea? Thank you for taking the time to trawl through everything before this and comment. Much appreciated.

A lovely, vibrant piece, Fiona. You're so enviably versatile!

Dip pen & ink sketch of an area towards Rig Bay. This was a top secret area during the second world war, as it was the site for the building and testing of the Mulberry Habour. There are still a few old and hidden reminders of the exercise there. Walked there this morning, it was a beautiful day. Done in the sketch book with Indian ink.
