You are justified in considering it successful. The drawing and painting is excellent, whilst the red hull in the complementary olive sea ignites it perfectly. Were I to niggle, I'd say the figures have a slightly architectural, draughtsmans-like quality at odds with the more expressive context.

Excellent painting, but to nick pick I would like the red boat to be slightly more to the right.

I love painting water, I love painting people and figures, I love painting buildings. The said subject matter all came together in this painting. I like to think it was successful.
