The Captain Cook by Emma Price

Lovely painting Emma.

This is full of atmosphere and really captures the mood of the derelict pub.

Super Emma, love the windy weather!

A very interesting study Emma, remember the name of this pub, but never actually seen it, being born in Old Ormesby and spending 19 years of married life in Normanby, I know it wasn't so far away!!

Thank you all - Linda, if what I’ve heard is true, it wasn’t the sort of place you’d ever want to go near! Maybe best to let it fade quietly away.

This is Middlesbrough’s oldest pub, and was the first port of call for sailors docking on the Tees nearby. It’s in a sad state now, but makes an interesting subject. This is based on a sketch I did during my lunch hour last week so it’s a bit lacking in detail but you should get the idea! Watercolour 14x10", yellow ochre, Naples yellow, transparent yellow , French ultramarine and crimson alizarin with some sepia pen on the tree branches.
