Curlews at Teesmouth

That is superb, Emma!

Love it Emma, beautifully painted.

A real eye-catcher, Emma. Well done!

You do a wonderful job with your birds Emma lovely detail and habitat. Love watching curlews and their calls👍

Lovely natural painting.

A marvelous painting.

How beautiful.

Beautifully painted Emma, love the haunting call of the Curlew. A bird with a cloak of superstitions…..poor thing…..thought to have the call of a soul in torment and a bringer of doom and to be avoided. This point has probably saved its numbers considerably over the years!

Fabulous, your subtle use of watercolour is always an eye catcher

A beautiful painting Emma.

Thanks everyone. Fiona - our wintering population seem to be doing well though they don’t breed here unfortunately - back to Scandinavia I think!

I thought Teesmouth would have included the North of Englands population, along with Scotlands, as part of the UKs breeding numbers? They may do one day Emma….with a fair wind! Lol.

Thank you Spencer and Romona. Fiona - they have an interesting migration pattern - the breeding birds from the uplands tend to go south-west for winter, and we get birds from the other side of the North Sea!

Very good Emma. The curves on birds can be very tricky but you seem to master them with ease!

Thank you Martin and Coral.
