Congratulations on your success, I wish you well. I too, love my local area, But a long way from you! I live and paint plein air in Gozo. We have an enormous number of wild plants here, including red campion, but it only grows to about 10cm here as it's very hot. Also too hot now to paint flowers in situ...will have to photograph then paint later!!!

Many thanks for all the comments. Thalia - it's been really cold here this week, so I'm slightly jealous! I often paint from photos as well, especially when I see subjects away from my local area and don't have time to paint them on the spot.
