Nicely painted Emma 🙂

Love this.

A brilliant seagull dancing with his shadow. Brilliant work Emma.

Thanks all!

Beautifully observed Emma. It makes me laugh when I see gulls in the fields doing their tap dance to encourage worms to the surface.

I wonder if that’s what she was doing? Because there are lugworms out there - good idea Fiona!

It’s how they catch worms in fields but I don’t know about on mud or sand, I suppose it could work. I think the soft pattering of their feet sounds like rain falling and that’s what makes the worms go to the surface. There are some examples on YouTube……it’s a very effective way of getting worms.

Think I’ve seen the local herring gulls doing that on the grass - clever birds! Maybe this one was experimenting 😄

Elegant in its simplicity. Very nicely done, Emma.

Thank you Seok.

This common gull seemed to be enjoying a little two-step with her shadow. Watercolour on Arches CP, 10x6.5".
