Using a home-made reed pen to sketch an oystercatcher

I also made some reed pens Emma, a great article from Jason and I've had some quite good results with them so far. This is a lovely sketch, I don't mind a few blobs, I like the looseness that these pens give you.

This is lovely Emma.... good to see the reed pen in action l

This is great, Emma. I must have a go with a reed pen.

It's full of life Emma. Like it a lot!!

Love this! Blobby is great! Loose and very effective...Jason's article was so inspiring...No reed beds here...I wonder if bamboo works>>>you've inspired me to try it!!! Thank you, Emma

Well done you! This lovely Oystercatcher looks great Emma.

Thanks everyone - hope you all have fun trying it out! Thalia, I've no idea if bamboo would work, but there's no harm in trying 😀

Bamboo pens work great, I've got some here that I bought. They are not as flexible as the reed pens mind you.

Thanks for the tip Alan; there's probably lots of possibilities out there...

One of my favourite birds! You have captured him so well.

Thanks Fiona.
