Hikers hut, Gatineau Park, Quebec
A rustic log cabin in the woods of Gatineau Park, Quebec. It provides refuge to hikers and cross country skiers taking advantage of the many winter trails through the park. Inside there were tables and benches to eat your sandwiches, and a log fire to warm up by (and dry your socks !). There had been a heavy snowfall the night before I visited and the trees were laden with snow. The sun came out out and the shadows were stunning. Too cold to paint in situ so this was done from a photo.
