House on the Thames

House on the Thames

Wow, what a place and what a superb painting Dympna, well planned with good architecture. I would be knocking on the door offering it for sale if it was mine...

What a beautiful watercolour, Dympna. I love skies and yours is very well painted indeed. So are your trees. One thing I would change - possibly make the boat and two occupants stronger in tone because they are so close to us. The house looks good - you have painted it well with just enough detail and shadow without getting over fussy. Well done.

Thank you Alan and Michael for your kind comments. I agree absolutely about the boat and the occupants. I will try and do that.

So your place then, can we all come and paint for the day, Smashing work Dympna

Thank you Derek. Yes, if it was my place everyone would be welcome to come and paint for the day. That would be fun.

What a beauty Dympna can't be faulted

My sort of watercolour and you are so good at it - this is up there with the others.

Lovely sky Dympna, reminds me of how James a Fletcher Watson used to paint them. The house and surrounding trees also work well, in fact everything!

Beautifully painted, especially the sky and house.

Thank you Dennis, Michael, Stephen and Fiona. I feel very happy to receive such encouraging comments.

Beautifully painted, Dympna. Clear, fresh and luminous, everything a good watercolor should be.

Hang on Studio Wall

This is my favourite house on the Thames which I saw when walking from King ston to Richmond. I also saw it in one episode of New Tricks. Watercolour on Arches rough 300gsm 28 x 40cm
