Right Dennis, out of your comfort zone (chortle...): we want a self-portrait. This is a beautifully balanced painting, in terms both of composition and colour - insofar as those elements can ever be separated.

Like Lilly's composed expression. Sat and looked for a while and found the white shelf at neck height a bit disconcerting. Looked some more and decided that I like te shelf in that position. I find all of your paintings have a touch of quirkiness. As usual beautifully painted Dennis.

To Sylvia, I like a bit of quirkiness in my paintings to stop it becoming a bit too composed. Like when in photography you get a lamp post growing out of someone's head? That is what I like. I also do things like balance a bowl on the edge of the table as if it was about to fall off, a trick I leaned from my mate Carravaggio. Thanks for all kind comments.

Once again thank you to everyone for all your kind comments. White is a very tempremental colour Gudrun, I am always amazed by the tablecloths in Cezannes still lives, they look white but have all colours in them!
