You have done well with the black dog Bob. Myself I would have left out the background and moved in closer. As nice as the background is put your hand over it and the dog really comes right up into focus. That's just my point of view.

I think this is all about the dog and a beautiful dog he is too. You could do a bit of cropping? But I like the bluebells Bob.

Yes, I agree with you both 100%. You can't see the dog for the trees!! I've cropped it down to A4 size and looks much better. Thank you both very much for your advice :-)

My friend's dog, Bodhi. A typically soppy Labrador. Taken from my friends photo. Again, not my ideal pose but it's his favourite picture. Had lots of difficulties, in lots of areas with this one ! I'm not good at greenery and painting a black dog was difficult. Critique very welcome on this one
