Thoughts of a chicken

Oh this is great Dorothy, I love your chicken. Have you tried using pastelmat by Clairefontaine? It's brilliant for coloured pencils and I use it a lot as you can put light colours over dark as with pastels.

You've really caught the look of that chicken, they have such an inquisitive way of holding their heads as though they are really eyeing you up 😀

Thank you very much everyone for all your comments. This one was done on Clairefontaine Pastelmat Margaret. It was the first time I had tried it though that is usually what I use for Pastel work. Hope this particular chicken wasn't thinking about much Lewis. I had one of his relatives for my supper the same night!
