Yes I've been to Malta and Gozo - very pretty scenes which you've captured well, Doranne, especially so as it was painted in front of your subject outside.

Painted Plein Air this last November weekend on the Island of Gozo. Dahlet Qorot is always a beautiful spot to paint out doors. The group set up close to 1.00 pm and were dying to get started with painting by that time. The weather in the Maltese Islands at this time of year is still beautiful with temperatures ranging from 22'C during the day to 16'C at night. In fact swimming is still possible in the shallow bays and there were quite a few people bathing this weekend. In this case I sketched quickly and lightly with a watersoluble pencil 8B on the Langton CP 300grms W/C paper, and then went on to paint in all the beautiful defused colours. Starting with the sky and then down to the sea and rocks. On the whole it turned out to be just what I wanted.
