Very well painted but why on the cross after the resurrection?

Beautifully painted Don, but like Stephen that question occurred. Jesus rose three days after the crucifixion and then showed himself to his disciples after that. Good work nevertheless.

? Salvador Dali painted this subject in 1951, the boat is missing as in his original, and the footprints and airstrip the cross appears to be about to land on am i missing the reason you took this copy on, or is there a hidden meaning here even though it is a fine piece of painting... ?

The original by Dali was titled Christ of St John of the Cross. I believe Dali based it on a drawing done by a 16th century monk (John of the Cross) after a vision experienced of the crucifixion. Bought by a Glasgow museum director in the 1950s for £8000. Spain recently offered £80 million to purchase.

Looking at Don´s gallery I have noticed that he adapts old masters to give his own paintings a new angle

I was going to mention the Dali piece...always one of my favorites.

This just my interpretation, it is not a full copy of Dali's " Christ of St. John of the Cross, only the cross and Christ, the sky, water, beach are mine. I am trying to show the darkness of the crucifixion moving into the light and the second coming.
