Thanks Kai and Heather. This Camden image and the Like Lautrec one reflect my approach to pattern and for ordinary people. The art school approach would be to make many sketches and afterwards create a composition in a studio. I prefer to remain with the subject as I feel you get something extra from life. I'm delighted Kai that you liked both. And grateful too for all Heather's feedback.

A pen drawing from life and on an A5 size sketchpad page. The pen I used did not the flexibility of the dip pen. It was at a quiet moment in a usually busy café. The patterns of the character's clothing and the surroundings made for a unity.
