Beautiful colours used to great effectiveness

Beautifully colours. I like the simplicity of it.

Love the colours and drama Steven.

Many thanks for the comments Heather, Dawn and Carole. It was always going to be the choice of colors that set this one apart.

Great colour - strong image!

Wonderfully creative and stunning colours

Love this, Stevan, beautiful colours - and the foreground grasses are really effective.

Shaun, Suzette and Jenny, thanks for the feed back. I love receiving the comments as it lets me know what people really like about my pictures. Regards Steve

Apart from the stunning combination of colours Stevan this has a gloriously mystery about it. I think it’s the impression of mist and twilight. Very striking!

Thanks Fionna, this idea started with 4" X 4" miniatures that worked well and I decided to go for a bigger format so this one is 10" X 10". It's different to my usual style but I'm well chuffed with the result. Regards Steve

I forgot to add my congratulations for getting your painting on the top line of the gallery Stevan....well done.

Like the strong colours and simplicity.

Thanks Fionna, I'm absolutely chuffed to have two on the selection in one month. Unexpected to say the least. Thanks for the feedback Sandra.

Glad you like Richard, thanks for the comment. Steve

I've been playing with colour and the combination of new gamborge and Prussian blue gave me the inspiration to develop this back lit example of a wind swept hawthorn. A subject that is all over Britain in exposed areas and not least in the Pennines and dales near where I live. The back lighting gives a silhouette and the whole combination , in my view, says 'last light of day'
