A great freshness abounds in this piece Dermot. Going back to Paynes Grey, yes, that will be worth a try, should make a lovely green shade, JFW was a master at keeping watercolours fresh and lively, I do have a book of his somewhere, I must dig it out.

This shows the real benefit of "no messing about", Dermot. All the wet in wet left undisturbed, creates such a lovely freshness, and therefore a beautiful result, just how a perfect watercolour should be. I love that sky!

This has worked very well Dermot, seems easy but can easily go wrong, I like that bright sky very much and you have created a good sense of depth with the stronger tones in the foreground.
