It all looks very flat from this distance and has lent itself to another panorama. I do like those colour also and the sky is a beauty Dermot. Thanks for you comment of yesterday's small offering, I never use a pencil first, it hinders me as I feel that I need to keep carefully to the lines, and all my work in this series are started of with a small rigger brush and acrylic ink, just dive straight in, I rarely use a pen, it doesn't flow the same as a brush, hope that helps. I have a WIP going into the online bonus feature next Thursday I think it is, you will see how I approach these small sketches, I assume that you have signed up to receive these monthly editions, if not, Dawn will sort you out.

Beautiful Dermot the light is great and so is the techniques

This view suits the long format, as Alan has said, that is another beautiful wet in wet sky which gives a glow to the whole painting. Interesting bit of history, reminding us of the ongoing battle against flooding. We always think of Bligh as a tyrant but he was a top naval officer of course.

Great sky and reflections Dermot , love this wide format you have painted recently.

Your busy yet restricted palette (if you know what I mean) works so well - love the format too.

Tremendous sky Dermot! I love the palette and softness of the lower sky. The composition suits the format of panorama.

I just love that sky and those reflections Dermot.

Super view Dermot, the colours in the sky are wonderful, it was nice to hear the story behind the view. Thank you for the tip regarding my Iris. I will take a look at John Yardley's work.

Very very good. Difficult to get that type of sky to work.

Another delicate and peaceful image ; you're on a wet in wet roll here Dermot, excellent stuff.

I painted this panorama using the second half of my large sheet of Arches a most beautiful paper to work on ( 140 lb cold pressed ) the view is from a little island my grandmother lived on call Bull island the a bridge connects the island to the mainland , Captain Bligh of bounty fame surveyed Dublin bay for the ballast board as the Isaland was man made and was used as a flood defence . This is the view I painted from the Island and takes in Dublins dock lands I had another great sky to work with .
