To be painted over

I've done worse ..... and have seen worse still! Much, much worse..... This would be good as a sketch for another painting, though.

Yes you're right thanks Robert, still thinking about it, but have painted on the reverse.

Agree with Robert. I think it's worth keeping, Derek. Very much so.

Thanks Seok but it's chopped in half at present.

I wouldn't paint it over either, try lengthening the shadows of the first three buildings across the road leaving gaps between each one to indicate they are detached, could add some depth to what is a lovely piece of work.

Thanks CA but it's gone now, but could try again.

Interesting to read about your painting over as I have only just done my first painting so don't have any archives!

No problem Don and pleased to hear you have started. What brought you into artwork and here?

Well Derek! I was going to say keep it but reading the above comments, I see that I am too late! I think that it's smashing, definitely do another one.

I think the gable end of the cream building facing us it beautifully painted with lovely variety of subtle tones and shades of colour- that is a joy in itself. The people are great as well, adding that touch of life to the scene. Definitely preserve this painting particularly for those reasons. I have a lot of paintings which have bits in I am pleased with but are marred by having passages that didn't go so well. Look at the good bits as they are handy to refer back to if you are planning to paint a similar scene or similar lighting, etc.

Thanks Thea, yes those are my fave bits, but was impetuous for another piece of old paper. All gone now.

Found this and other old stuff, so will probably paint something on the reverse of this scene, I think at Beer. Not good, some bits OK but paring the archives down. 44 x 33cms paper.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
