I'm not sure what you have lost. This has made me smile and it sums up the day as far as I can tell.

I’ve done that myself, and nearly got wet feet. Super sketch.

You're both too kind thankyou

It's nice Derek and there's no way you've lost it mate

Sorry and thanks dennis, but I know.

I think that we all feel like this at times. I do anyway and just have to sit it out. We all have our ups and downs. That's because we care about painting and despite friends telling me that they wish they could paint, sometimes I wonder whether it's that enjoyable. It can be so frustrating and yet when it goes right, worth all the stress and bother!

I know you can't paint as well now as you once did, before your stroke. Of course you're disappointed and fed up with yourself about that: who wouldn't be? But you've still produced a painting here that people like - and your other paintings, using the card technique, are working well. So, if I may say so, take pleasure and satisfaction in what you have done, and what you can still do - there are many who'd like to be able to paint as well as you: you can still make a statement, and people respond to it.

Also, I always admire and enjoy seeing your work here. Robert is quite right !!!

It’s fabulous, Derek. I can’t see a problem.

Thank you dennis, Robert, Louise, Ellen and Stephen. I do enjoy what I can do with my new "enforced" technique. It's just the struggle needed to achieve anywhere near a decent, and it's not, watercolour and then had to enhance, tidy, it with a pen. It was a decision I took to try and do it as once I could and like many things, can't do these days. Even those quay side posts, dead simple freehand one brush stroke and straight once, they took several tries. Grateful thanks again

Proof I've lost it, my attempt then tarted up with a pen, at a watercolour based on my en plein aire sketch early this year

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
