I think it all works really well, Derek. I like both versions, they each convey a different feel, but both are appealing.

This mornings fiddling. Wife in studio on computer so I couldn't work on her surprise painting. I found this not very good ink and wash street scene worked from a photo I think, years ago, so added acrylic to it. I added a building in the middle to fill a space that looked awkward in a street, but it's not good and done with about two strokes and quickly.
