Thanks mate. It's all practice in my view. I remember at a committee meeting at my ex-art club, when the woman organising group painting/sketching was looking for ideas. I suggested if she was really stuck, why not gather at our usual school on Saturdays as normal and we could paint/sketch around there. We had the hall if weather was poor, local old buildings, roads, a pub. The school was having some works done, so builders stuff, scaffolding, machines all there. She snarled at me ( as usual) " had I seen the area, it's like a building site"

I always enjoy looking at sketches like this of real life. We all recognise such places and can relate to them. Give me a building site industrial type place any day over lions, tigers and overly pretty scenes. You could work more on this scene Derek. Those roof shapes could be the basis of a more abstract painting. Good sketch!

Quick study at Industrial area when the Eriba had some small additions and repairs. 30 mins max. They said nothing much scenic round here, but any where has a sketch in it.
