Derek - I love your dynamic and expressive interpretation

Nice work Derek. An inreresting view. What exactly is "Paul's Challenge"?

Thank you Lynne. Jim I assume you don't get The Artist magazine. This month on P31 Paul Talbot-Greaves issues a challenge to readers to paint in their own way and submit to the editor of POL.

Thanks Derek. No, I don't get the magazine.

Your colour choice is good Derek. I recognise the scene now that you've pointed it out and it isn't a copy, you've made it your own.

You've definitely made it your own, really like this.

I like your take on Paul's challenge Derek, the stronger palette creates a totally different atmosphere.

Its a very strong composition, Derek and the colours support it. A great painting.

Great choice of colours Derek and they are a perfect foil for each other.

Agree your work develop all the time Derek

JIm you possible could see it from the POL front page. Thanks Louise,Andre, Fiona, Willie, Marjorie and dennis. It isn't my composition.

Not intending to copy. From The Artist magazine I liked the composition but worked with colours of my choice and created a different atmosphere, fancying a dark blue sky which is Prussian Blue with a slight touch of Cobalt. I introduced more green and chose Phthalo Green. Also in there is Cad Orange, Burnt Umber and Raw Sienna. The white is W&N Galleria 140lb paper which is usual for me, size 35 x25. Finished piece is 30 x 20cms.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
