I find small windows quite tricky Derek. When they're small and detailed, one wrong touch with the paint brush and my whites are lost! I suppose with acrylics that you can paint over them but it's probably quite annoying when it doesn't feel quite right. Best to just loosely indicate the window shape with a quick sweep of the paint brush I find while hoping for the best! You have two nice paintings here especially the top one for it's warm colours. The touch of yellowy orange of the tree works well I think. Perhaps it's time to change your style of painting if you feel that way inclined. Nothing lost by trying out new ideas is there?

Thanks Louise. I think I may have satisfied myself with this one, yes the top one is the finished acrylic. I am seriously thinking of switching to Impessionistic completely

I think you did a sterling job, Derek, and windows that don't look exactly uniform are one of the painterly features of many great paintings. Your treatment of the windows gives the scene much liveliness.

Thank you Seok. I think this might be framed and shown one day next year.

A pub at Cotehele Quay, Cornwall, where I did the sketch shown and then found a more interesting image of it. I started this about 2 weeks ago and just finished it after waiting for paint colours I needed in my Acrylics box. 33 x 18cms on paper. My hands are far too shaky now for this sort of thing like the windows and I will look of a more suitable way of painting and try to change my style.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
