The limited palette works well here and has produced a lovely dramatic scene with that dark sky and the golden fields.

Thanks Thea, I hope Carlina doesn't take offence. I have just had the physio here about my hand and she is pleased and signed me off, I just have to keep all the execrises going. I need to change th palette but it's more a case of getting rid of it and starting fresh.

Agree with Thea - the contrast of the vibrant dark sky and the lovely bright foreground and mid-ground is super. And I like the strong foreground lines that lead the eye into the painting.

Thank you again. The sky could do with a complete change but, we'll see.

Great contrasts Derek!

My take on Carlina's lovely pastel, again using what's left over on the palette. 23 x 32cm on paper. Not the correct colours but got the best I could and this Oil/Acrylic paper tend to streak too easily. It was Gesso'd first. All done with a No 16 brush Thanks for the subject loan Carlina

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
