Nice work mate looks very abstract and I like it well done.

When you turn them and paint over you can get some great underclours and texture as you have here.

I like the way the colours appear and then disappear again on this "hilly" ground, gives a great sense of depth.

Thanks Sharon.I did intend to paint this on the reverse but it's much smoother and didn't provide the same texture

I really like this Derek, the corrugated card gives the impression you are viewing the scene through slatted blinds. It's so unusual but very effective!

Thanks Christine, no more pieces until I have a delivery of something.

You didn't need to describe the birds Derek, they look exactly like what they are. I've just finished a painting after your corrugated cardboard example to use up some leftover oil paint.......a Venice scene, it's terrible but I will post it for the giggle.
By the way the warm breakfast seat hasn't anything to do with your wife being away at the moment has it.....I suppose I will have to cook it as well!!lol

Amazing result Derek, this board gives the work added character, a great idea.

Thanks Fiona and not particularly as she has read this page, of course it won't be warm as she is in France.

Thanks Alan, it was a try just because it was lying about.

Good textures, always interesting Derek.

Thank you Carole

You're in the groove Derek! - geddit?

Not much to add. Great painting! Interesting texture

Thanks Marjorie, nice one and thanks Gudrun.

Like looking through frosted glass, very innovative Derek and you seem to be becoming a trend setter. Will give this a try.

Very innovative Derek, like looking through frosted glass. You seem to be becoming a trend setter, think I'll give this a try.

Cheers Andre, as I said earlier it was just a piece doing nothing. I knew I could probably achieve a decent backgorund texture with the corrugations if the paper stood up to the paint and it worked.

Always fascinating to see what you come up with next Derek and you never disappoint us with your creativity. Lovely work!

Thanks Louise, from you that is some compliment

It's always fascinating to view your very innovative pieces, Derek, This is super - excellent use of textures and a very good contrast of tones.

Thank you Seok. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about subjects and how to depict them.

27 x30cms. Again from my breakfast seat. This is painted over Squrrels Route One. I turned it 90 deg, added more darks. We have a decent selection of birds feeding and I have tried to depict Blue Tit, Nuthatch and Goldfinch.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
