Oh.. Derek I see so many funny creatures in this marvellous abstract. The tittle is so serious but I can&#39;t help finding it to be a very happy painting. My first reaction was A fighting beetle but after a closer look there are many insects and other animals creating a wonderful mess. ( Must sound really mad!)<br />I love it!

Thanks Satu, very perceptive. I must look up the lyrics one day. There are letters scribbled in there by the way.

It&#39;s a very elegant piece Derek

Thanks dennis , not the word I would use but we see what we see.

Your abstracts are evolving, Derek. Dunno if the 3D effect is intentional but it looks really great. Good job!

Thanks Ivan and Gudrun, not intentional tubes, just the way I was scraping it I think.

Another full of emotion.

Great colours! You asked about the challenges Derek, it&#39;s just anyone posting on the gallery and throwing down a challenge, usually Thea, but the July one was started by Christine. You could start one by challenging the gallery to do an Abstract if you wanted too!!

Cheers Louise and Debs, might just do that.

Wonderfully expressive and energetic abstract. I do like your colour choices.

Full of interest and the palette works well. Great abstract.

Thanks Thea and Michael. Red, purple and black seemed to work in scarred blood.

Love the sense of motion and energy that this piece conveys, Derek. Super stuff!

Heard a song title this morning, but not the song and thought this. 40 x 55 acrylic inks on paper.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
