Lovely feeling of distance in this one Dennis, the background fields appear to be miles away. As has already been said, the shadow on the snow works very well. I was surprised to see that our familiar friend was bang in the centre of the composition but the dog and the main tree cleverly balance things. One of your best I think.

Thanks Stephen I treated the man and dog and tree as the centre of interest and as a group they fall right of centre, mind you I do break all the rules . However I would recommend to follow the basics as they give the best chance of a successful outcome.

Lovely warmth to the scene. I like the juxtaposition of the offset road and the central figure it seems to establish the informality of the rural setting. The background landscape is superb.
