It certainly does Dennis, that sky looks full of snow, like it very much.

Thank you Lisa very much.

You have caught the bleak winter atmosphere very well and the diminishing tones in the lines of foliage in the background create a sense of depth in the picture. I wonder if Mr. Seago would have added a few posts or a rutted track to draw our eye to the tree?

Thanks Stephen I will try and do the tracks tomorrow lets see

Hi Dennis, don't be too hasty to add tracks which may upset the calm horizontal emphasis of the scene with unwanted diagonals. Also, you have a beautifully subtle white line in the snowy foreground which does take your eye upwards without upsetting the horizontal rhythms of the composition. I am not a fan of Seago, your paintings are better constructed than most of his, so follow your own path. That's what good art is about. I really love your work for its originality, throw the Seago book away please.

Wow Elizabeth you have shocked me maybe I will have a rethink and take your advice.

Definitely caught the winter atmosphere - in fact it looks positively Arctic to me! Great painting of 'white' - so hard to do well but you have managed it with ease.

I can't really agree with Elizabeth's thoughts, Edward Seago is perhaps the greatest English post war Impressionist painter. He has influenced many fine subsequent landscape artists - Wesson, Yardley, Chamberlain, Howard to quote just a few. Doesn't mean slavish copying of course.

Thanks again all as for Seago I love his paintings by in my case maybe I should be me . Stephen obviously I agre with you on seago.

It certainly did, Dennis. You've captured the bleakness and the chill of the winter landscape in spades.

Thanks Seok yes I was purposely keeping it as simple as possible to emphasise the blak qualities of a deep winter silent landscape.

It's beautiful Dennis! It looks as though there is blizzard heading straight towards me.
