I would have had no hesitation in joining the art club had I lived a couple of hundred miles closer to Mddleham. I was only visiting for the day!

I like Middleham. I usually spend a day there when I’m holidaying in the area. Lots of horses which I always refrain from trying the sketch - I’m happier drawing the beautiful old buildings which don’t move! As I sketched this, I was approached by an elderly gentleman and asked I& I would like to become a member of the local art club. He evidently thought I had the credentials!

Keen on art at school and would have dearly liked a job with an art connection- I had hoped to get into architecture, but it did not happen.…
