The first time I went to Sienna, it was twilight and the restaurants around the perimeter of Piazza del Campo had all lit their candles on the tables. The candles reflected in the cobbles creating a wonderful glow as did the voices of the diners creating a resonating hum. The second time, I went to the top of the building on the right and got Vertigo. The third time, it was so crowded that I could hardly move. thanks for bringing back the memories.

Wonderful sketch, Denis.

Linda, I treasure my sketchbooks because they bring back so many memories. I have 25 of them now stretching back more than 20 years. I'm pleased that my pic of Siena triggeredmemories for you too.

Beautiful, so full of life and atmosphere. Great!

Super work, with light and atmosphere in spades.

I soon twigged that something special was taking place. It turned out that the classic cars taking part in the Mille Miglia were passing through a check point just in front of the place where I was drawing. The square rapidly filled with spectators - far more than I managed to capture. It was a truly magical day!
